University of Kansas Moore Hall Labs Remodel

Moore Hall has been the home of the Kansas Geological Survey since its construction in the early 1970's. The building is six stories with a mechanical penthouse above, and the top floor of the building includes laboratories used for geological research and analysis. The labs in rooms 603 and 607 remained largely unimproved since their original construction over 50 years ago, and no longer met the needs of the researchers using them.

Kansas State University Umberger Hall Elevator Modernization

In July 2022, the State of Kansas implemented new requirements through the Office of State Fire Marshal for the permitting and construction of all work related to the construction, modification, maintenance, and inspection of elevators throughout the State, including those operated by State agencies. Concurrently, OFPM has clarified their plan review and permitting requirements regarding elevator modernization projects.

University of Kansas Moore Hall Switchgear & Transformer Replacement

Moore Hall on KU's west campus is the home of the Kansas Geological Survey. Originally built in the early 1970's and added on to in the early 1980's, the electrical distribution equipment in the building is original to the construction, and the main switchboard located in the main mechanical room has seen deterioration due to environmental conditions as was obsolete and difficult to maintain.  The service transformer outside the building was originally installed and owned by the electric utility company but was subsequently sold to the University.

Lyon County Law Enforcement Center Jail Plumbing Fixture Replacement

Lyon County, Kansas operates a correctional facility that contains 74 individual housing units. The existing plumbing fixtures located in most of the units were porcelain water closets and wall mount porcelain lavatories, original to the 1992 construction. This installation is no longer standard in correctional facilities as they are subject to repeated damage due to daily use and introduce potential safety risks as porcelain fixtures can break into hazardous shards.

Leavenworth City Hall HVAC Piping Replacement

The City of Leavenworth City Hall Existing HVAC system utilizes a two-pipe hydronic hot and chilled water system for heating and cooling of the building, mostly routed through the unfinished basement of the building with risers up to individual pieces of HVAC equipment. Throughout the life of the building, multiple projects had replaced portions of the system or added to the system, resulting in a mixture of piping materials, ages and conditions, and the system experienced periodic leaks.
