Hiawatha Water Treatment Improvements

Nitrate levels in the City of Hiawatha water supply increased to the point that they were no longer compliant with state and federal standards. BG Consultants, Inc. was selected to perform an engineering study to examine alternatives for supply and treatment. The existing system supply was from two separate well fields. BG evaluated several treatment options and scenarios to find the best alternative for the City and created a system-wide hydraulic model of the distribution system to evaluate the feasibility of blending two separate sources within the distribution system.

Control Service Company New Office

BG Consultants, Inc. partnered with BHS Construction on a design-build delivery for the new Control Service Company office. The 3,045 SF facility was constructed using wood-frame construction and provides a highly functional and efficient workspace tailored to the client’s operations. BG provided a full range of in-house services, including architectural design, structural engineering, MEP engineering, civil engineering, surveying, and construction staking.

St. Thomas More Sanctuary Improvements

The St. Thomas More Catholic Church renovation project in Manhattan, Kansas aimed to improve the overall functionality and aesthetic of the interior and exterior church spaces. The renovation included upgrades to the interior floor and wall finishes with new carpeting and porcelain title, providing a fresh, ecclesial look and feel to the Sanctuary, Altar, and Gathering Area. The restrooms were also updated to provide durable, low maintenance materials and modern fixtures for the staff and parishioners.

Evergy Service Center

BG worked directly with Evergy to modify an existing former cattle auction house by reusing it’s red-iron structure and constructing additions to create an Evergy Regional Response Center. The final building houses a large office space, warehouse, fleet maintenance and interior vehicle storage. The west office addition 3,250 SF of the building features a seven person open office, a private office, hardened storm area/conference room, a large crew room, and a sixteen persons locker-room.

Horton Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements

In 2015 BG was contracted to assist the City of Horton with improvements to their Wastewater Treatment Facility due to effluent permit limitation violations with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. After conducting a study that identified options for improvement and replacement, it was concluded that replacement was the best option due to the existing facilities' condition.

Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine East Clinic

BG Consultants, Inc. led the design of a new Sports Medicine facility with Doctors James McAtee and Trevor Gaskill. The goal of the integrated facility is to provide comprehensive care bridging rehabilitative physical therapy and return to sport specific performance. The facility provides care to athletes of all ages and abilities while serving as an extension to the main building of the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine clinic in central Manhattan. This new branch was constructed in Pottawatomie County to serve a growing need for services on the east side of Manhattan.
