Shunga Glen Skate Park

The Shunga Glen Skate Park, otherwise known as Rip-On Skate Park, opened in Topeka in 2004. BG Consultants worked closely with the Skate Park Committee and the City of Topeka to develop the park’s bowl/ramp design. The 9,310 square foot concrete facility features a bowl, bank-to-bank ramps, quarter pipes, two pyramids, and grind rails for the enjoyment of area skateboarders, in-line skaters, and bicyclers. For security purposes, the amenity was designed to blend into the surrounding park without obstructing views. BG’s design also included provisions for lighting.

The Shunga Glen Skate Park was the second skate park BG Consultants designed in Topeka. The first, dubbed Mouse Trap Skate Park, opened in 2000 and won the Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Associations’ Municipal Concrete Award.
