City of Manhattan

West Anderson Avenue Survey

The City of Manhattan has hired BG Consultants, Inc. to analyze the current and projected traffic demands of the Anderson Avenue corridor between the Scenic Drive/Kimball Avenue and Anneberg Park/Sharingbrook Drive intersections. An important component of this study is the investigation of the two intersections. The study recommends that the Anderson Avenue and Scenic Drive/Kimball Avenue intersection be improved to one of the following:

a) A multi-lane roundabout

b) A signalized intersection with separate left-turn lanes on all approaches and separate right-turn lanes for westbound Anderson and northbound Scenic.

The study also recommends that the Anderson Avenue and Anneberg Park/Sharingbrook Drive intersection be improved to one of the following:

a) A single-lane roundabout

b) Maintain the two-way stop controlled condition along with an improved lane assignment that has dedicated left-turn lanes and minor geometric improvements.
