Parsons Frisco Trail

In 2008, BG Consultants completed a new pedestrian and bicycle trail for the City of Parsons. The concrete trail, which is 1.16 miles long and 10 feet wide, begins in the northeast part of town at the intersection of Chess Avenue and 10th Street and ends at the intersection of 31st and Belmont Streets.

A significant portion of the trail was constructed next to the Labette Creek Levee, Frisco Railroad R/W, and City of Parsons R/W. Its implementation improved connectivity between educational, residential, recreational, and commercial facilities in the Parsons community.

The project was funded by KDOT’s Transportation Enhancement Fund Program. It was designed in compliance with AASHTO’s Guide for Development of Bicycle Facilities and ADA accessibility guidelines.
