Jarrod Mann, P.E. is based out of the Lawrence office in the position of Head of MEP Engineering.  As Head of MEP Engineering for BG Consultants, Jarrod is leading a team of five engineers and technicians in the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, and communications systems for a wide variety of projects, both in support of fellow BG Engineers and Architects and directly for BG’s Clients.  In addition to design, Jarrod’s duties include development and maintenance of corporate design and quality control standards, project management, and business development.

Jarrod grew up in Valley Center, Kansas, and graduated from Kansas State University in 1999 with a BS in Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.  He completed an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas in 2017. 

He worked for more than 17 years for a major engineering firm, first in their Wichita headquarters as an electrical engineer, and then in their Lawrence office as an electrical engineer, project manager, office manager, and principal.  He has worked on a wide variety of project types, including K-12 and higher education, healthcare, municipal, commercial, and industrial.  A few of his notable projects are the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, and dozens of projects at the University of Kansas including the ongoing Central District Redevelopment.  He is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas and Missouri and a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction. 

He is currently serving as the Treasurer of the North Central Region of the Construction Specifications Institute, and as an ACECKS representative and the Vice-Chair of the Kan-Struct 2018 Conference Planning Committee.

He has been married to his wife, Lani, for nearly 20 years, and has three children.
